100th Anniversary of the Hungarian University of Physical Education FDC

The Magyar Posta commemorates the Magyar Testnevelési és Sporttudományi Egyetem's (TF) centennial with special stamp blocks. Designed by Dobos Katalin, these blocks are produced by the Pénzjegynyomda Zrt. and will be available from September 17, 2025, at post offices, Filaposta, and the Magyar Posta's online store. Originally established as the Magyar Királyi Testnevelési Főiskola, TF is Hungary's oldest institution for higher education in sports and physical culture. Klebelsberg Kuno, a prominent figure in Hungarian higher education and science, played a crucial role in its founding. Over time, TF has undergone several name changes and organizational transformations, now operating under private sponsorship since 2021. The university celebrates its jubilee with a two-year event series and communication campaign, with Magyar Posta issuing a stamp block in honor of the occasion. Today, TF offers a wide range of courses, from basic to doctoral levels, to over 3500 students. As the hub of sports science in Hungary, it maintains close ties with sports associations, the government, and both the Hungarian and International Olympic Committees. Since its inception, 151 Hungarian Olympic champions have graduated from TF, and many renowned athletes have studied there. The ongoing campus development project, completed in 2023 with the Dr. Koltai Jenő Sportközpont, provides international-level educational and research opportunities. The jubilee celebrations aim to showcase the university's history, notable figures, and the social significance of sports. Events include exhibitions, book launches, film screenings, conferences, and the university's European volleyball championship.
