One of the reasons that the ECO10 by Blueair is touted as the ultimate in environmentally conscious air purification is because it features proprietary HEPASilent filter technology, which allows increased airflow, along with decrease energy use.

HEPASilent particle filtration works in conjunction with the ionization chamber built into each Blueair device. These filters are designed with fibers that are looser-knit than what is found in most competing air filtration systems and they work by trapping harmful particles through electrostatic attraction. With a more open fiber knitting, HEPASilent filters by Blueair can allow for increased airflow, resulting in faster cleaning and lower energy consumption. The filters are also constructed with a 3-stage design that allows the progressively tighter-knit polypropylene fibers to entrap 99.97% of any pollutants, down to 0.1 microns in size.  Blueair particle filters are proven capable of capturing every type of airborne pollutant, including pollen, mold spores, dust, pet dander, allergens, bacteria, and viruses.
