Looking for a little extra protection for your Ripsey Seat Bag? The optional Skid Plate is made from 1/8" HDPE and will provide long-lasting protection for your harness. If you're expecting to really beat up your harness then this is the upgrade for you!
The Skid Plate also extends behind the harness to protect your dry bag. Most bikes won't need that feature, but on some full suspension bikes the tire will hit the dry bag instead of the harness. This is most likely to happen on small-sized frames with steep seat tube angles and 29" wheels.
Should you get it? We recommend the skid plate for full suspension bikes where you expect to hit your seat bag within the first two-thirds of suspension travel. If you won't hit it until the last third of the travel, the standard nylon harness should hold up just fine.
